The following position is available at the Institute of Polymer Chemistry (Junior Research Group "Precision Polymers for Pharmaceutics"):

Research Associate (m/f/d; 65%, TV-L E13)

The position is available immediately. Our group is seeking a talented and motivated employee who works in the field of chemistry and life science on polymer-based drug delivery systems. Your responsibilities will include: Synthesising small organic molecules and metal catalysts, conducting polymerizations to produce intelligent or sustainable materials, polymer anaylsis, interpreting generated data, and presenting to an interdisciplinary audience (articles and conferences).

Our group focuses on developing innovative drug delivery systems and nucleic acid therapeutics using new and sustainable polymers. The project is situated in the interdisciplinary field of (polymer) chemistry and ophthalmology.  

Profile & Qualifications

-M.Sc. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Drug Delivery, or related disciplines.

-General knowledge of relevant techniques in polymer and organic chemistry

-Experience with analytical techniques (NMR, GPC, MS, DLS, etc.)

-Knowledge of physicochemical characterization of nanoparticles, cell-based assays, and working in S1 laboratories is advantageous

-Motivated, enthusiastic, and curious scientist who seeks new skills and is capable of working independently

-Good English skills; German language skills are beneficial but not required

Master or Bachelor Thesis, Internship Students

We currently have positions available for Master and Bachelor students. If you are interested in joining our interdisciplinary group and you have a background in polymer chemistry or inorganic chemistry, please contact our group (friederike.adams@ipoc.uni-stuttgart.de).

We are espacially searching for a master student working on RAFT-polymerization for the synthesis of cationic polymers acting as antimicrobial agents.
